DOG CHEW RECALL – Redbarn, Chewy Louie, Good Lovin’ and Dentley’s

I’m always so worried about my four-legged companions consuming anything they shouldn’t. I absolutely despise it when there are product recalls, and I think it’s ridiculous that consumers are have to pay such close attention to the kinds of candies they purchase.

In the beginning, Redbarn Pet Products conducted a voluntary recall of only one kind of dog treats. The products subject to this recall are currently being extended to cover more candies.

Redbarn Pet Products, LLC has increased its voluntary recall of dog chews to include numerous brands of their dog chews despite the fact that no reports of injuries, illnesses, or complaints have been received as of yet.

Why the Recall

Redbarn Pet Products is erring on the side of caution by extending its voluntary recall to cover all treats created from raw materials given by a single supplier. This decision was taken in an effort to protect the health and safety of their customers’ pets.

The original recall, which was announced on February 7, 2021, only applied to a single batch of product. This was because the Colorado Department of Agriculture had tested a retail sample they had received for Salmonella and found that it was positive.

As a result of the possibility that Salmonella might be present in any of these treats, the manufacturer has decided to recall all lots of treats that were produced using raw materials obtained from the same source. Redbarn Pet Products came to this conclusion after the FDA found evidence of salmonella contamination in an additional batch of raw material supplied by the supplier.

What Is Included in the Recall

The raw ingredients that came from this one source were used to make items under the Chewy Louie, Redbarn, Good Lovin’, and Dentley’s brand names that had best-by dates that ended with the letters BC.

The following is a list of items that have been recalled due to the incident (list obtained from Redbarninc.com).
