The very greatest goodies ever created for the very best dog ever created.
Do you have a certain food that you like so much that your eyes get all giddy and your stomach starts churning whenever you see that someone has purchased a fresh bag of it? Simba enjoys munching on these Blue Buffalo training treats – Wild Bits Chicken Recipe whenever he gets hungry. When she sees this bag come out, and especially when she tries these small chicken bits, her eyes actually start to go a little bit larger. I have no doubt that they provide her the utmost joy.
Blue Buffalo is a household name and a powerhouse in the pet food industry; everyone is familiar with them. These bite-sized morsels, however, can get lost in the shuffle of all of their other snacks and goodies. Not because they do not deserve our attention, but because they are contained in such a pitiful small sack. It is not completely surprising that they are contained in a little bag given that each of the sweets is on the diminutive side.
These Wild Bits are marketed as training treats, and it is common practice for treats used for training to be of a more diminutive size. This is due to the fact that dogs often consume a significant number of treats during training. For your convenience, I’ve included a snapshot that compares the size of a treat to that of a dime.
The Wilderness product line from Blue Buffalo is grain-free and has a high amount of protein. According to the information provided on their website, Blue Wilderness is “Inspired by the diet of wolves, genuine omnivores whose endurance is legendary. BLUE Wilderness is a protein-rich, grain-free meal that includes more of the delicious meat dogs enjoy.” I can’t help but wonder whether this indicates that these snacks will provide Simba with a little bit extra stamina. Even though, she insists that they are delectable despite the fact that this is quite unlikely.
What’s in Them?
There are some fairly excellent stuff inside of the bag. These Blue Buffalo training snacks have the following ingredients:
- chicken breasts without the bones, an excellent source of protein
- The puppy’s cognitive development and ocular health both benefit from DHA.
- The omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that dogs consume help them maintain healthy skin and coats.
Actual ingredient list
Deboned Chicken, Potatoes, Chickpeas, Maple Syrup, Vegetable Glycerine, Gelatin, Salt, Flaxseed (source of Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids), Natural Smoke Flavor, Fish Oil (source of DHA-Docosahexaenoic Acid), Preservatives (phosphoric acid, sorbic acid, citric acid, and mixed tocopherols), Oil of Rosemary. Deboned chicken, potatoes
Phosphoric acid, unlike sorbic acid, citric acid, and mixed tocopherols, does not exist naturally. Despite the fact that it is generally accepted that it does not pose any health risks, phosphoric acid remains a contentious component of the product.
Because phosphoric acid is listed so far down on the ingredient list (which indicates that there is less of it in there than the items that came before it), and because these treats are so small, I would venture to guess that the amount of phosphoric acid that is consumed is practically insignificant.
Every single tasty morsel has just 5 calories. This may not seem like much, but keep in mind that the calories quickly mount up when you start providing food for a large number of them. When you are giving your dog treats throughout the day, it is a good idea to vary the quantity of his normal food that he consumes. The more treats you give your dog during the day, the less of their normal food you should give them at mealtime.
You are well aware that Simba adores these tasty morsels in every way. I really wish I could describe to you the expression that she has when she tries one of them. Her eyes become a bit larger and everything appears a little brighter. I was able to get her to take a picture with them, but it wasn’t an easy task.
Make a mental note to take a picture of Simba holding the bag BEFORE you break the seal on it. Simba is really ecstatic with these Blue Buffalo training treats, which are the Wild Bits Chicken Recipe.
